2. General & legal bases
We only process personal data to the extent necessary to provide a functional website, to handle your enquiries and to conduct our business relationships. The legal bases are in particular:
- Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR – consent,
- Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR – performance of a contract and pre-contractual measures,
- Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR – compliance with legal obligations (e.g. retention under commercial and tax law),
- Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR – legitimate interests, such as the secure and trouble-free operation of this website.
3. Hosting & server log files
This website is hosted by an external service provider: Microsoft Ireland Operations Ltd., One Microsoft Place, South County Business Park, Leopardstown, Dublin 18, Ireland (Microsoft Azure). A data processing agreement pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR is in place with the provider. Processing takes place in data centres within the European Union.
When you visit the website, information transmitted by your browser is automatically stored in server log files:
- IP address of the requesting device,
- date and time of access,
- page or file accessed and amount of data transferred,
- referrer URL (previously visited page),
- browser type, browser version and operating system,
- HTTP status code.
Processing is based on Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest lies in the technically error-free presentation as well as the security and stability of the website. Log files are deleted after 30 days at the latest unless they are needed to investigate a specific security incident.
4. SSL/TLS encryption
For security reasons this website uses SSL or TLS encryption. You can recognise an encrypted connection by “https://” in your browser's address bar. Data you transmit to us therefore cannot be read by third parties.
5. Contact form
If you send us an enquiry via the contact form, we process the data you enter: name, e-mail address, subject and message as well as – voluntarily – company, phone number and OEM number or VIN. We use this data exclusively to handle your enquiry and for any follow-up questions.
The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR if your enquiry relates to the performance of a contract or is necessary for pre-contractual measures; otherwise Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in answering enquiries) or your consent under Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR, which you may withdraw at any time with effect for the future.
To protect against spam we use an invisible check field (“honeypot”) and briefly limit the number of enquiries per IP address in the server's memory; the IP address is not stored permanently. The enquiry is forwarded to us by e-mail. Your data will be deleted as soon as the enquiry has been fully dealt with and no statutory retention obligations apply.
6. Contact by e-mail & phone
If you contact us by e-mail or phone, we process your details (e.g. name, contact details, content of the enquiry, photos sent) to handle your request on the basis of Art. 6(1)(b) or (f) GDPR. Data is not passed on to third parties without your consent unless this is necessary to perform the contract (e.g. passing on the delivery address to forwarders).
7. Cookies & analytics
This website does not set cookies and does not use any analytics, tracking or marketing tools. No user profiles are created. A consent request (cookie banner) is therefore not required.
8. Google Maps
On our contact page you can display a map from the Google Maps service. The provider is Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. The map is only loaded when you actively click “Load map”. Only then is data – in particular your IP address – transmitted to Google and cookies may be set by Google.
The legal basis is your consent pursuant to Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and Section 25(1) TDDDG, which you give by clicking. The consent applies only to the current page view; after reloading the page the map is no longer displayed. A transfer to the USA is possible; Google LLC is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. Further information: policies.google.com/privacy.
9. Fonts
This website only uses system fonts that are already installed on your device. No fonts are loaded from external servers.
10. Business relationships
In connection with quotations, orders and deliveries we process the data of our customers and suppliers (e.g. company and contact person details, delivery and invoice addresses, order and payment data) to perform the contract pursuant to Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR. For delivery on invoice we may obtain information from credit agencies to check creditworthiness; the legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (protection against payment default). For export transactions we transmit the necessary data to customs authorities, forwarders and shipping service providers (Art. 6(1)(b) and (c) GDPR); to comply with foreign trade regulations, data is screened against sanctions lists.
11. Storage period
We only store personal data for as long as is necessary for the respective purpose. Statutory retention periods remain unaffected – in particular six years for business letters (Section 257 HGB) and eight or ten years for accounting records and tax-relevant documents (Section 147 AO).
